Video surfaces from Taylor Hawkins’ final performance

Taylor Hawkins stepped out from behind the drums to sing a cover of his favorite band Queen’s song Somebody to Love in his last performance before his sudden death at the age of 50.

The Foo Fighters played the Lollapalooza Festival in Argentina last week and fans were delighted to see the legendary drummer swaps featuring Nirvana drummer Dave Grohl during the show.

As the two are accomplished drummers, it became a tradition for the lead singer to swap places with Taylor, allowing him to take the mic for a song or two during their energetic live shows.

“Oh every morning when I get up I die a little bit,” Taylor sings in the incredible clip.

“Can hardly stand up, look in the mirror and cry.”

Before the touching performance, Taylor told the crowd: “I love Dave Grohl man.

“I would deliver pizza if Dave Grohl wasn’t there. If it weren’t for Dave Grohl, I’d be running the drums department at a guitar center.”

Taylor’s heartbroken band members announced his death last night.

A statement on the band’s official Twitter page said: “The Foo Fighters family is devastated by the tragic and untimely loss of our beloved Taylor Hawkins.

“His musical spirit and infectious laugh will live on in all of us forever.

“Our hearts go out to his wife, children and family and we ask that their privacy be treated with the utmost respect at this unimaginably difficult time.”

A cause of death was not given.

The band has now canceled their performance at the Estéreo Picnic Festival in the capital after the tragedy.

The Foo Fighters had a worldwide tour planned for 2022, with UK dates for the summer.

Devastated fans were left in shock after reading the band’s statement.

One asked: “No. No, I do not understand. Is this some kind of sick joke? Has someone hacked your account?”

But another told them: “This is not a joke, he was found dead in Bogotá today, they wanted to play at a music festival called Estereo Picnic today.”

And another commented: “No. What? I can not believe that. What? I’m so grateful to have seen Taylor live.
