CYCLISTS and rail passengers have been warned of busy services this weekend due to the London to Brighton cycle ride.
Govia Thameslink Railway, which runs the Southern and Thameslink services, said services to and from Brighton are expected to be “busier than usual” on Sunday 11 September due to the annual event.
The train operator urged Sunday travelers to “prepare for queues” if you’re traveling by bike.
Cyclists set off from Clapham Common in London on a 54-mile ride through Haywards Heath and Ditchling Beacon before reaching the finish line at Madeira Drive on Brighton seafront.
The annual event, now in its 12th year, is expected to have thousands in attendance to raise much-needed funds for a range of charities – including Great Ormond Street Hospital, Macmillan Cancer Support and the Alzheimer’s Society.
