What is triangle strategy?
Triangle Strategy is another game that Square Enix calls “HD 2D” games. That means the art style is roughly 16-bit and harkens back to the golden age of JRPGs, but the graphics use modern flourishes like 3D and tilt-shift effects. It goes together well, as anyone familiar with Octopath Traveler can attest.
This game is a throwback to the style of Final Fantasy Tactics. As such, it’s a turn-based strategy game in which you command a team of warriors in multi-tiered environments to defeat opposing forces. Your characters’ position on the battlefield also plays a role in their effectiveness, as higher tier forces are given greater range. You can also chain elementary reactions, such as B. using fire to melt ice in the area and then using lightning on the water to deal damage.
