The True Health Podcast: Life Lessons with dairy farmer Louise Crowley

This week at Real Health we bring you something different than usual with another series of life lessons.
I’m delighted to be here, dairy farmer Louise Crowley, to tell us what life is like as a young farmer in Ireland and what it’s like to be a woman at work.
I’ve been following Louise on Instagram for a long time now and I’m glad she was able to take the time out of her busy day to join me on the podcast.
Ireland, as we know, has a long agricultural history, but how much do we know about the people who tend the farms that provide us with the food we eat every day?
No two days on the farm are the same for Louise, but one thing that sets her apart is her social media presence. Louise says she didn’t choose to document her life on her platform, but grew out of people’s curiosity about her life and how she works.
“People were asking me questions about my farm, how many cows, what do we do… and after a few messages I thought maybe a few more would be interested, so I started posting the answers publicly. From there it just spiraled out.”
We also talk about what a typical day in Louise’s life looks like, her relationship with the animals on her farm and the challenges farmers are currently facing.
