The Urban Explorer’s eerie finds in the tunnel across the street have him running for his life

They were so startled by what they saw that they “came out of the tunnel as quickly as possible” and “banged our knees and shins against the sharp cement edges.”

Urban researchers have captured some eerie images of items left in a tunnel beneath a busy high street, including a discarded padlock, police tape and a rusty nail.
And they were so terrified by what they found that they got out of the spooky tunnel “as fast as they could.”
They discovered the murky passage under a busy road that lies under a railway track, reports North WalesLive.
Among the items they found was an empty lounge chair facing the wall, something that wouldn’t look out of place if it were to appear in the 1990s cult horror film The Blair Witch Project.
One explorer, who asked not to be named, said they had to “squeeze and crouch and eventually scratch down our bellies” and described “a growing sense of claustrophobia between us.”

“The distance from one end to the other is surprisingly long, but halfway through narrow gaps you can see the freeway below, which oddly helped us stay calm,” they said.
But that was to “change dramatically” when they reached half-time.
They added: “We have reached the end and let me tell you that we have never felt the same sense of dread before or since. In front of us was a single folding chair facing a wall.

“On the wall was a partially torn page from a newspaper or magazine showing a fully nude lady in an erotic position. I can’t say for sure, but it seemed more sinister than sexy if that makes any sense.
“The scene that lay before us had left us completely speechless and an overwhelming sense of panic was felt collectively.

“Needless to say, we got out of the tunnel as quickly as we could, banging our knees and shins against the sharp concrete edges that lined the path to the ladder we entered by.
“Of course we all prayed to God that the manhole had not been resealed as it was impossible to tell until you reached the ladder itself.

“Fortunately the way to the exit was clear and we immediately ran as far away as our legs could take us.”
Among the random items the town researchers found were –
- Police tape found in tunnel walls
- A rusty nail on the ground as they took the first step down the tunnel
