The virtual “Playboy Mansion” is coming to the Metaverse and could take on OnlyFans

THE infamous Playboy Mansion will enter the virtual world in a raunchy foray into battle against OnlyFans.

It means naughty Metaverse users could soon be exploring the halls once graced by the late founder Hugh Hefner.

The entertainment brand has hired a slew of tech experts as part of a major digital reinvention.

The company has already jumped on the NFT train.

Nearly 12,000 cartoons of Playboy’s iconic bunny, known as Rabbitar, went on sale last October.

A sleepy fairy rabbit has achieved its highest number to date at $47,000/£37,400.

The NFTs are not only collectibles, but also provide access to exclusive offers, giveaways and special Metaverse experiences.

But the cheeky firm is looking to continue its digital journey after permanently shutting down its print magazine during the pandemic.

It created a platform called Centerfold to compete with adult subscription site OnlyFans.

rapper Cardi BDrag queen Gigi Goode, model Amanda Cerny and pornstar Ana Foxxx were all recruited as part of the ride.

“We believe that centerfold can shake up the creators’ economy just as Playboy Magazine shook up the publishing world,” Playboy said Morning Brew.

Central to their move to digitization is hiring a Web3 community manager.

Web3 is considered the next great iteration of the internet as we know it.

In a recent interview with CNBCPlayboy CEO Ben Kohn said: “The magazine was a product of the company.

“But it really was this rabbit head that’s worth billions and billions of dollars and isn’t replicable.

“If you think about what this brand represents from a marketing perspective, from an awareness perspective, we pretty much have 100% awareness anywhere in the world.”

Hefner lived in the real mansion until his death at the age of 91 in 2017.

It was sold for $100 million in 2016 on the condition that the Playboy founder could lease it for life.

In 2020, pictures appeared showing the famous party palace undergone major renovations while its new owner tries to restore it to a livable condition.
