The Voice UK’s live shows have been criticized, it has been reported.

The popular ITV show is said to have been pre-recorded this year, with every episode of the series already being filmed – including the final show.

This will be the first entry into the competition, with all other series having episodes airing live in the UK.

An insider told the Daily Star : “Everything was filmed. It was all completed in mid-February.

“Live shows are expensive to make. Pre-recording episodes is a much cheaper way to make TV.

“A lot of the big shows are fully pre-recorded – Masked Singer, Starstruck, Bake Off and Drag Race are some of them.

The show is back this year, but it’s different from any series before it

“The days of super-popular X Factor-style live shows every weekend during the fall are long gone.”

The move will not only help ITV save money on production costs, but it will also help keep the show from derailed if Covid restrictions are reintroduced.

But the decision is not without risk, as the show – due to be aired in the next few months – is now in danger of being exposed.

ITV bosses have taken measures to ensure only a small number of people see the winner announced, but there are concerns that the news will come out.

Coach Anne-Marie won the show last year

The insider added that the biggest worry for bosses is that the results will appear on social media before the episodes air.

They said it would cause a “huge headache” and many viewers wouldn’t have bothered to follow up if they already knew the results.

Coaches Olly Murs,, Anne-Marie and Sir Tom Jones are all back for the 2022 series, ready to mentor a new batch of hopeful singers.

The Voice UK is one of ITV’s most popular competition shows, typically drawing four million viewers on Saturday nights.

It originally premiered on BBC One in 2012 and has now aired for ten seasons.

The show’s winners will receive a recording contract with Polydor Records, and previous winners include Kevin Simm and Mo Adaniran.

Last year, new coach Anne Marie, who was on the hit show last year, won when her mentor Craig Eddie was crowned champion.

Speaking of the advice his mentor gave him after his win, Craig said: “I think I’m trying too hard to get through to the next stage and I’ve gotten to the point where maybe I didn’t enjoy it as much as possible.

“So [Anne-Marie] told me to just look around, capture everything and enjoy the experience. “

An ITV spokesperson told The Mirror: “The Voice UK is back on ITV and ITV Hub later this year.”
