The Wanted re-releases single Gold Forever for charity in memory of bandmate Tom Parker

Tom Parker: End of the funeral for The Wanted star

Wanted re-recorded and released a new version of their single Gold forever to raise money for the Brain Tumor Charity following the tragic death of band member Tom Parker.

Tom died aged 33 in March, less than 18 months after he was diagnosed with a brain tumor.

Tom’s wife and family demanded it Gold forever was played at his funeral – with his band members currently creating an updated version of the single entitled Gold Forever (For Tom)

Max George, Siva Kaneswaran, Jay McGuiness and Nathan Sykes recorded the song, which was played at Tom’s funeral last week in south-east London.

The band later made the song available for download to allow fans to preserve the song in tribute to the Bolton native.

On top of that, The Wanted, Island Records and the song’s writers and producers will donate all proceeds to Brain Tumor Charity.

The charity researches, raises awareness, and provides support and information to people with brain tumors.

Their CEO Alex Lochrane said: “ Gold Forever (For Tom) is a beautiful song and a moving tribute to Tom, and we are so grateful to The Wanted that the proceeds from the sale of this single will help us fund world-class research. and vital support services for anyone affected by a brain tumor.

Gold Forever was first released in 2012.

It peaked at number three in the chart and was the third UK Top 10 hit for The Wanted afterwards. All time low reached number one and Heart void reached number two.

Max shared about carrying Tom’s coffin during the ceremony on Instagram last week, in which he shared how honored he was to be able to support Tom in such a way at the service.

He wrote: “Sleep well beautiful boy. I will always think of you. Thank you for making my life better than I could have expected. It was an honor to take you away. .”
