The ‘well-loved’ father of three, 50, died by the fishing pond as the ‘devastated’ family pays tribute

A family has paid tribute to a “much loved” father of three who died at a fishing pond in Sheffield earlier this week.
Kevin Hodkinson, 50, was taken to hospital by ambulance on Thursday night – but sadly pronounced dead shortly afterwards.
Kieran Hayes, 33, has since been charged with murder and taken into police custody.
He is due to appear at Sheffield Magistrates’ Court on Monday morning.
In a tribute to Kevin, his family released a photo of him and said: “Kevin was a much-loved son, father, grandpa, brother, partner, uncle and friend.
“We are devastated to lose him.”
South Yorkshire Police said in a statement: “A 50-year-old man who died in Sheffield last week has been named as his family pays tribute to him.
“At 9.21pm on June 16, emergency services were called to reports of a worrying man at a fishing pond on Herries Road in the Shirecliffe area of Sheffield.
“The man now believed to be the father of three Sheffield’s Kevin Hodkinson was rushed to hospital by ambulance but sadly was pronounced dead a short time later.”
The force added: “Officials are intensively investigating the circumstances surrounding Kevin’s death and have charged a man with murder in connection with Kevin’s death.
“Kieran Hayes, 33, of Sheffield, has been charged with murder and is being held in police custody. He will appear in Sheffield Magistrates’ Court on Monday morning (20 June).
