The Witcher 3 Next Gen on PC is getting a hotfix to address teething problems

The next-gen update of The Witcher 3 for PC has received a hotfix to address a number of launch-related issues.
According to the patch notes, the hotfix should “improve the overall stability and performance of the game and fix GOG and Steam overlays”.
Stability and performance improvements is of course the catch-all term used by developers to group a large number of small fixes together, but we know from reports from PC users that issues have included frame-rate drops and slow texture loading.
CD Projekt Red Global Community Director Marcin Momot reports that the update will be 3GB on Steam and 1.9GB on GOG.
A hotfix intended to improve the overall stability and performance of the game has just gone live on PC. Please make sure to update your version of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt and let us know how you find it.

The next-gen update has also finally arrived for owners of the game on EA’s Origin platform, after being missing from the update’s release on other platforms last week. However, a support thread on The CD Projekt Red forums suggests that some players on Origin may still be having trouble updating their games.
