THE magic shop owner said he was shocked to discover his shop was rated as the best in town according to TripAdvisor.
Oliver’s Brighton on Trafalgar Street, which stocks hundreds of different magical items, has been listed as Brighton’s best shop based on visitor reviews.
The store has over 800 five-star reviews on the platform, with customers praising the store as “the most magical shopping experience”.
While not officially affiliated with the Harry Potter franchise or author JK Rowling, the “wizard secret shop” offers over 500 different items from the film series and books, including butterbeer, chocolate frogs and wands.
A reviewer on TripAdvisor said, “I have stayed here twice and am currently planning my third trip.
“I love that all the wands are on display and if something you’re looking for isn’t there Oliver is happy to help and see if he has it for you behind the magic curtain.”
It comes as founder and owner Oliver Dall has been five years since he was first given the keys to his shop, which has since won several awards.
He said: “A customer sent me a message saying we’re number one on TripAdvisor for shops in Brighton.
“I couldn’t believe it when I looked. I’ve worked so hard over the past five years; There have been ups and downs and anyone who is self-employed knows how hard and stressful it can be at times, but I am truly honored and grateful to everyone who has supported my shop and journey.”
Mr. Dall also recently announced plans to launch a gold-infused magical spirit.
The new drink, dubbed Wizard’s Gold, is an all-natural vanilla schnapps from Madagascar that promises to be “delicious, golden and certainly not boring”.
The drink, which consists exclusively of natural ingredients, is scheduled to be launched in winter.
People wishing to visit Oliver’s Brighton can book an appointment through their website.
