One woman shared her trick for making oversized dresses that fit “perfectly” around the waist without needing any sewing – and people think the idea is “so clever”.
Bodies come in all shapes and sizes, and sometimes we can run into trouble when shopping for clothes – as it can feel like some sizes make things too tight in some places and baggy in others.
For example, if you have a larger bust, you may have found that buying tops and dresses that can accommodate your bust means you have too much stuff hanging around your waist that you don’t need.
That’s a woman’s problem tick tock addressed in a Video Earlier this month when she shared a clever hack this will help dresses that are too big in the waist fit “perfectly” – and you don’t have to get out your sewing kit to do it.
Instead, all you need is a simple item that you probably already own. A hair tie.

The woman posting under the username @midsizefashioninspoShe wore a pink bodycon dress in the video and showed how the fabric hung loosely around her waist, despite fitting perfectly through the bust and hips.
And to perform the hack, the woman explained that you simply turn the dress inside out, gather the fabric, and tie a hair tie around it before turning it right side out to hide the waistband.
She said: “Turn your dress inside out. Take a bobble and wrap it around the extra fabric.
“Put your dress back on properly. Slightly slimmer waist and a cute design.”
Commenters on TikTok were amazed at the hack’s simplicity, as many of them said they never thought of tying their clothes to make them fit better.
One person said, “What a great idea! Wow! And it looks so beautiful on you.”
While another added: “This is so smart.”
And a third wrote: “This is the best hack! Thanks!”
Meanwhile, another woman has been named Carolina Freixa also recently shared her hack for making dresses sit perfectlyafter buying a silk slip that was too big around her waist.
She suggested turning the garment inside out and putting it on before attaching a safety pin to each side of the dress along the waist.
Next, Carolina said that you should tie a piece of string through each safety pin before bringing the pieces of string to the center of the dress and tying them together — which pulls the fabric inward around your waist.
Then just turn the dress right side out and put it on.
