The Women’s European Cup comes to Brighton

Following the success of the Lionesses in Europe, THE WOMEN’S EURO trophy will be held in Brighton this weekend.

Football fans can have their picture taken this summer with the UEFA Women’s Euro Trophy won by the England women’s team.

Players like Ellen White, Jill Scott, Beth Mead and Leah Williamson captured the hearts of the nation as England lifted the trophy for the first time in August.

The Lionesses have given us an incredible summer of football – who can forget Alessia Russo’s heel-heel against Sweden?

And fans in Brighton and Hove can now catch a glimpse of the trophy as part of the Goal Power exhibition at the Brighton Museum and Art Gallery.

Hedley Swain, Managing Director of Brighton and Hove Museums, said: “We are delighted to have this very special trophy in our museum and we would like to thank the FA and UEFA for allowing us to share it with the public .

“The success of the England women’s national team has given the whole nation a boost this summer and was very special for us as some of the games were played in our city.

“Our Goal Power exhibition puts their achievement into context and celebrates the women throughout history who led to this victory.”

The trophy will be on display at the Goal Power exhibition on Saturday from 10am to 5pm.

Goal Power recently hid soccer balls across the city, with free entry to the exhibition for those who find them. The Women’s European Cup comes to Brighton
