DRIVING TESTS can be extremely stressful and the pandemic means more Irish learner drivers than ever are preparing for the big day.

Relax has analyzed records from the Transport Safety Authority in Ireland to find out which weeks in 2021 had the highest success rates, what made them the happiest, and which counties had the lowest success rates across Ireland.

There was some New Year’s luck in January as the week of 3rd to 9th had the best win rate of the year at 61.50 percent.

Of a total of 3,031 tests offered, 827 people passed their driving test this week.

The second happiest time of year for drivers to take home a full driver’s license was the week of February 7-13, when 1,422 out of the 3,007 people on offer passed their test.

The pass rate for this week is a cool 59.20 percent.

The third and fourth happiest time of year to take your driving test hasn’t come yet in 2022 – so there’s plenty of hope for all the learner drivers out there who failed their test.

June 6-12 had a 59 percent success rate, followed closely by August 8-14 at 58.10 percent.

The least lucky month of the year seems to be December as it has two weeks in the bottom five of the lowest success rates.

And those with tests booked for late September and October might want to pick up some extra lessons ahead of the big day, as those dates had the lowest pass rates in Ireland last year.

The unluckiest week for a driving test in 2022 was the week beginning September 19, with a pass rate of just 50.50 percent.

Only 1,523 of a total of 3,369 exams on offer passed their test this week.

Earlier in the month may be best for those looking to secure a driver’s license as the five weeks with the lowest success rates all occurred in the last two weeks of the month.

The worst boroughs for taking your driving test have also been revealed and Kilkenny tops the rankings with a pass rate of just 39.55 per cent.

Dublin, Carlow and Louth follow with the next lowest pass rates, all under 50 percent.

And Wicklow, Waterford, Westmeath, Offaly, Meath and Sligo are also on the list with under 60 per cent success rates in each county.
