This Morning viewers couldn’t help but worry as Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield interviewed Michael Peterson on Wednesday’s show.
Michael, 78, was convicted in 2003 for the December 2001 murder of his second wife, Kathleen Peterson.
After eight years, Michael was granted a new trial after a judge ruled a severely indicted witness gave false testimony.
In 2017, Michael filed a plea to Alford to reduce the manslaughter charge. He was sentenced to time served and was released.
Joining Holly and Phillip on the set of ITV, Michael was happy to discuss the details of Kathleen’s death and the theories surrounding it after she “fallen down the stairs”.

However, some This Morning viewers were unimpressed with the interview – especially Phil’s questions and comments.
“Phil is up in likes, he’s on Law & Order #ThisMorning,” one joked.
Another tweeted: “Phil is trying so hard to get the old boy to hang out but he can’t! #Thismorning.”
Another claimed: “Phil tryna pinned this murder on guy lol #ThisMorning.”
And a fourth viewer added: “Go on, Phil keep pushing him for #ThisMorning.”
Another asked: “Did Phil suddenly think he was Columbo?” while another tweeted: “Phil it’s not your job to find out if he did! #thismorning.”
This Morning airs at 10 a.m. weekdays on ITV and ITV Hub.
