Viewers of This Morning were left baffled when a dating expert suggested trying LinkedIn to find love.
Paul Carrick Brunson – who also serves as an expert on Celebs Go Dating – is giving his advice to someone named Silla, who has reached out to the show to ask how she might find love. love if she doesn’t want to use the usual online methods.
Alison Hammond and Dermot O’Leary hosted a phone call where people from the top and bottom of the country shared their anxieties and dilemmas about dating, including whether they’d lost their chance of being found. love at 70, whether they should give their relationship or work time to work against it, or whether they should tell their best friend that they like them.
But when it came to his advice to Silla, some viewers were left baffled by his suggestion.
“There are a few things we can do. One is, when you’re online – be more open to talking to people,” he said.
“It doesn’t mean you have to go meet everyone. Also, another online trick is to expand your geographies, every time we expand the geographies of 10, 20, 30 or 50 miles, we’re going to have a whole new bunch of people into our circles.”
He added: “The other thing I want to mention is that online dating is great, but online apps are not necessarily the only way. More people meet on social media than on dating apps, so use social media – Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, etc.”
“LinkedIn is also another professional network where you can get referrals but also meet new people,” he says.
