Viewers This Morning winced as Alison Hammond and Dermot O’Leary learned a TikTok dance live on air.
The presenting couple hosted a feature on TikTok dances on the ITV morning show today as they attempted to learn a viral dance from the popular mobile app, which has now over a billion users.
Fans tuning in to the show had to cringe as Alison, Dermot and show regular Gyles Brandreth were joined by a dance expert to master a TikTok dance in minutes while singing to the popular viral track Lean Wit It (Rock Wit It) danced ).
Alison, Dermot and Gyles learned the dance and did their best – as they tried to keep up with the simple dance, which was prepared for them by a TikTok dance expert from Reading, who runs special dance classes based on the app’s viral tracks.
However, viewers at home were less than impressed with the group’s attempts.
“Absolutely as spasmodic as f***. Like we all want to sit here and watch them TikTok dance #This morning‘ wrote one.
A second added: “Ffs wtf is this rubbish. Get off my screen… #This morning‘, with a third sharing, ‘This segment is ridiculous but funny.’
“Just agreed #This morning and it’s like a bunch of older folks doing TikTok… trying to keep up with today’s youth,” wrote a fourth, commenting on the couple’s dance.
However, some fans were also impressed by beauty expert Ateh’s dancing skills, as well as Alison.
“The skincare lady and Alison do better than this ‘expert’ you go girls! #This morning‘ one fan shared, while another wrote, ‘Well that was better than watching the news #This morning #Tick Tock #ThisGirlCANTDance.”
Alison later rewatched it and admitted it was “so bad” as she hid her face over the couple’s attempt.
“This is so bad, this is the worst TikTok video ever,” Alison said as Dermot held his heads in his hands.
When the clip was shown on the show, Alison revealed it had already been seen hundreds of times, as Dermot winced and added, “500 people saw it and they’ll never see it again!” Addressing viewers at home and then added: “Don’t look at it!”
Alison herself is an avid TikTok user and has over four million likes for the popular app.
