Viewers of This Morning were unimpressed watching Wednesday’s show as Deidre Sanders led the way with the latest phone.
Hosts Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield invited the grieving aunt onto the ITV studio when the callers arrived with their guilty dilemma.
The first uses the name April when she explains that she still feels guilty about cheating on her partner during the first few weeks of the affair.
April explained that she is currently 20 weeks pregnant but feels unable to enjoy it because she feels so bad about what she did to her boyfriend.
From her advice, Deidre began: “This is a relationship that’s going very fast because you’ve been together a year. But the point is when you cheat, it’s really the real early days. , so you don’t have the commit yet together then.
“As with anything, this is really about your partner feeling insecure, not about you doing anything outright terrible. You didn’t commit to him on that date. At that point, he probably wasn’t committed to you.”
“So he just feels threatened when you’re with someone else,” Deidre continued.
“It’s about him working on himself as much as anything because he just needs to face that insecurity. You guys are giving each other this huge commitment. If he can’t manage it, it’s really worth meeting a mentor together,” she added.
“But what percentage of his problems does he need to accept.”
Many viewers disagreed with Deidre’s advice and took to Twitter to comment.
“This advice sucks. His feelings are well-founded. She bloody cheated on him #ThisMorning,” one person said.
Another tweeted: “Huh?? Why does he have to work on his own? She cheated on him #ThisMorning.”
Another asserted: “If he was cheating, Deidre would call it a red flag and tell you to run, Holly #ThisMorning too.”
A fourth viewer asked: “Is there a situation where Deirdre thinks the man isn’t to blame? #ThisMorning.”
And another added: “I feel like if this had gone the other way and the bloke had cheated very early in the relationship the advice would have been very different! #Thismorning.”
Another viewer asserted: “This phone is such a mess. Advice, if you can call it that, #ThisMorning is not good.”
This Morning airs at 10 a.m. weekdays on ITV and ITV Hub.
