This Morning viewers discovered an anti-Torie message hidden on a guest’s jacket during Monday’s screening of the show.
Barbara Lisicki, an activist who helped change history in the 1990s by tirelessly campaigning for equal rights for people with disabilities, appeared on ITV with Phil and co-host Josie Gibson .
She appeared on the ITV show to talk about the upcoming BBC series Then Barbara Met Alan, which was inspired by her real-life relationship with Alan Holdsworth.
Fans of the show were quick to praise Barbara for her work, while many noticed a message on her overalls.
Barbara wore several badges, as well as a red sticker that read ‘Kick the Tories out’.
On Twitter, one fan wrote: “Like she got that badge!”, while another said: “Drop the Tories badge!” with an okay emoji.
A third said: “I’m surprised they let her wear that sticker” as another social media user wrote: “The makers must have missed that sticker.”
Phillip apologized to Barbara during her appearance on the ITV show after an inappropriate vehicle was accidentally sent to take her to the set.
Phillip addressed the fact that she arrived later than planned, because the car company hadn’t listened to the show’s instructions about Barbara needing a suitable vehicle for transportation.
“This is not how I wanted to start the show, but I will start with an apology,” he said.
“As I prepare for this interview, I will ask about how far we have progressed, have we improved at all…
“Then I found out which car company we were using for this show – and we specifically asked them to provide a car that would allow you access – but we had to change the order. of today’s program because they don’t send a car that you can get in. So we still have a long way to go.”
Barbara replied, “It’s one of life’s daily ironies. It is a disappointment that all people with disabilities have to go through.
“There is always a barrier to whether you can keep working on your plans or live your life.”
Elsewhere on the show, Phillip shared a message from Holly Willoughby, with whom he is still quarantining with Covid-19.
At the beginning of the show he said, “Josie is back! I’ve been texting Holly all weekend and she’s totally fine. She just has an extremely nagging and annoying red line that won’t go away She will sit at home.It drives her crazy.
This Morning airs at 10 a.m. weekdays on ITV and ITV Hub.
