Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield even winced as they struggled to deal with a Spin To Win contestant on This morning today.
Caller Rob appears to be experiencing technical problems after saying the correct passcode and trying to respond to what Holly and Phil are saying.
But some viewers weren’t too impressed with how Phil handled the situation, calling him “rude”.
When he heard some background noise, Phil shouted, “Rob, turn the phone down!”
After a pause, the man replied, “I’m back.”
Phil shouted again: “Turn off the phone!”
“I turned down my phone, yes,” Rob replied.
Holly continued to speak as Rob said, “Yes, job done.”
Phil put his hand over his face as Holly continued: “It was a great day because there was a change so you won-“
The host interrupted, exclaiming: “Don’t say ‘work done’!”
“I turned on the phone,” Rob replied.
“No, turn the phone down!” Phil said, looking very annoyed.
“I have, yes,” replied Rob.
Phil asked, “Can you normally hear us now?”
“Yes, yes, fine, thank you very much,” he replied. “Great.”
Holly asked him if Rob wanted wheels or balls, and he replied, “I’m rolling on the carpet.”
Phil chuckles, asking: “And you? Do you want wheels or balls?”
“For the wheel, please,” Rob replied.
He ended up winning £1,000 along with the combined prize of a holiday and £500.
But viewers raised their eyebrows again, with one commenting: “Phil is so brutal isn’t he.”
While another commented: “Phil stop being mean!”
A third person fumed: “Phil is rude to him for no reason!”
“Phillip stop being so horrible, poor guy, he’s so adorable #ThisMorning,” another wrote.
