Thomas Markle talks about coming to the UK for the Queen’s Jubilee

Meghan Markle’s estranged father is set to fly to the UK for the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee as it’s unclear if his daughter and son-in-law will also make the trip.

Thomas Markle Snr, 77, said he wanted to try and meet members of the royal family – Prince Charles in particular.

Speaking to Dan Wotton GB News, Mr Markle said: “I’m looking forward to it.

“I will show my respects to the Queen and make sure the Queen understands that my entire family respects the Queen and the Royals and we admire them and we want them to know that’s how we feel about them. “

Mr Wootton said Mr Markle will be making the trip with GB News, while the retired American lighting director added: “I would really like to meet Prince Charles and thank him for walking my daughter down the aisle and sitting down and with him spoke.

“We have a lot in common now, we were both ghosted by our kids.”

When asked if he thought he would be able to meet Prince Harry and Meghan if they also came to the anniversary, he was optimistic.

He said tonight: “I have a feeling they won’t come if they know I’m coming, but if they do I’d love to speak to them and talk about what went wrong and how it can be fixed … don’t see it, but I’d definitely like to try.”

However, Mr Markle didn’t hold back from calling his son-in-law an “idiot” over the safety concerns and criticizing his daughter for traveling to the Queen with Archie and Lillibet.

He said: “I think it’s ridiculous. He knows how much security they will have.

“He’s totally safe in this situation and my god I don’t understand half of the things he’s saying.

“I have so little respect for that man and I think he’s an idiot… and to come over and not bring the kids… most moms don’t leave a nine-month-old child… that’s one thing that really bothers me… the notion that they don’t feel safe is ridiculous.”

He added: “Not bringing the children is another slap in the Queen’s face and it was wrong to do it and it makes no sense at all.

“The Queen should have every right to see her great-grandchildren and I should have the right to see my grandchildren.”

Mr Markle also took another stab at his son-in-law, bizarrely questioning his military career.

He said: “He’s not a man … You can tell me he was in the military and I don’t believe it. He’s a wimp. He has a brother who is a real man.”

Last week, Harry claimed he’s making sure the Queen has “the right people around” to “protect” her in his latest revealing interview.

The Duke of Sussex told America’s the Today Show that it feels great to be back with his grandmother, but insisted the US is now his “home” – for now.

He said: “Being with her was great. It was just so nice to see her… She’s in great shape. She always has a great sense of humor with me and I just make sure she’s protected and has the right people around her.”

Mr Markle’s comments come as he previously told his close friend Karl Larsen he was prepared to testify against her in a court case brought by her half-sister Samantha.

He said he would be “thrilled” to come face to face with his estranged daughter and her husband Prince Harry.

Mr Markle also previously said he believes his eldest daughter should win her case and revealed he was willing to testify on her behalf.

The lawsuit was first revealed by the Sunday Mirror in November and was officially filed in Florida last month.

Samantha, 57, is suing her half-sister Meghan for $75,000 (£57,000) and claims she lied about her to the authors of the controversial book Finding Freedom and in her TV interview with Oprah Winfrey.

Michael Kump, representing Meghan, called the lawsuit “baseless and absurd” and a “continuation of a pattern of disruptive behavior.”

He added: “We will give [the lawsuit] the bare minimum of attention, that’s all it deserves.”
