Thousands across the UK have received a 10-day warning saying it’s time to apply for one Cash Boost worth up to £300.
The fund, which closes on September 30, was set up by the government and will vary between different local councils, which can decide how the money is distributed. The main use of the fund is to help with meal vouchers and energy bills.
Each council has received a share of the £1.5billion added to the fund so far.
Many local funds have already completed their application process, but some will remain open until September 30th. You can find your local council on the Government website to see what the process is like in your area.
The government website states that “funds should be spent or committed before September 30, 2022 and cannot be withheld for future use”.
It adds: “The aim of the Household Support Fund is to provide support to vulnerable households that need support most urgently to help with significantly rising living costs.”
