Three amazing features WhatsApp MUST add soon in the war against iMessage

WHATSAPP is always struggling to be your favorite texting app – but it could be better.

We’ve rounded up three must-have features WhatsApp needs to add that could give it an edge over nifty competitors like Apple iMessage.

WhatsApp was ahead of the game when it came to allowing users to “unsend” texts.

But it is now scooped: Apple is just a few weeks away from being able to edit post-delivery messages in iOS 16.

WhatsApp needs to catch up, and fast.

The ability to easily correct typos can be a lifesaver, especially when you’ve made a very embarrassing mistake.

One of iMessage’s best features is Memoji – custom avatars that look just like you.

You can send Memoji stickers, create custom animated Memoji clips, and even use a Memoji as your face in FaceTime video calls.

We’ve heard rumors that WhatsApp is working on adding a similar feature.

But Memoji has been around for years, so it’s about time WhatsApp made its own version.

Making a WhatsApp video call as an animation would be great fun – and could actually be possible within a year if the leaks are correct.

Better group chats

Group chats are an integral part of the WhatsApp experience.

Almost everyone who uses WhatsApp will be in at least one group chat — but are they good enough? No!

There is a lot of room for improvement.

First of all, WhatsApp needs to introduce the ability for users to leave groups silently.

And group administrators should be able to delete texts for everyone – not just for themselves.

WhatsApp should also deliver on its promise of adding communities.

These communities are designed as groups of groups and could revolutionize the way we use the app.

Perhaps you could have a study group that has many smaller groups within.

Or maybe your neighborhood would have a church that splits into separate groups to complain and educate about neighborhood issues.

Thankfully, most of these features are already in development.

So we could see them landing on the live version of WhatsApp before the end of the year.
