Three Formula 1 world champion drivers compete in the Goodwood Revival

THREE Formula 1 World Champions will be among the drivers at a historic race meeting.

The annual Goodwood Revival takes place between Friday 16th September and Sunday 18th September.

Among those in attendance are Formula 1 drivers Jenson Button, Damon Hill and Sir Jackie Stewart.

The trio have five Drivers’ World Championships together.

A total of 12 former Formula 1 drivers will be there, including Max Chilton, who set a new hill record in the McMurtry Spéirling at the 2022 Goodwood Festival of Speed.

A Goodwood spokesman said the event will bring together participants from across the spectrum of motorsport, with nearly 30 different racing championships represented.

Five British Touring Car Champions, six World Endurance Champions, five IndyCar Series drivers and three Isle of Man TT winners are expected.

The event will also feature drivers from the European Le Mans Series.

Among them are nine-time winner Tom Kristensen, known as Mr. Le Mans, three-time champion André Lotterer, Henri Pescarolo, who holds the record for most Le Mans starts, and three-time winner and two-time World Endurance Champion Brendon Hartley.

Also present from the world of formula racing are Formula E driver Stoffel Vandoorne and two-time Formula E champion Jean-Éric Vergne.

The two-wheeled event features riders, winners and champions from the Isle of Man TT, World Superbike Championship, British Superbike Championship and MotoGP.

Three renowned Isle of Man TT winners – Peter Hickman, Gary Johnson and John McGuinness – will race at the event, who together have a total of 34 victories to their credit.

Representatives from American motorsport series such as IndyCar, NASCAR and IMSA will also be there.

Five former and current IndyCar drivers – Max Chilton, Scott Dixon, Dario Franchitti, Jimmie Johnson and Simona de Silvestro – will compete at Goodwood Motor Circuit over the weekend.

Touring car racing will feature drivers, winners and champions of the British Touring Car Championship (BTCC), European Touring Car Championship, World Touring Car Championship, Italian Touring Car Championship, Super Touring Car Championship, Bathurst 1000 and DTM.
