WhatsApp communities

The hugely popular chat app is constantly adding new features, and one of them is called Communities.

Communities are basically large groups that contain WhatsApp group chats.

The brand new feature called Communities has been in development for months.

Every iPhone and Android user warned about the NEW WhatsApp feature

Each community is like a giant “group” for your existing WhatsApp groups.

Groups are one of the most popular ways to chat within Facebook’s own app.

But having multiple groups can be chaotic at times — and hard to keep track of.

When it’s in place, you’ll be able to notify multiple groups at once.

For example, you might have a study group that contains many smaller groups.

Or maybe your neighborhood would have a community that splits into separate groups to educate and complain about neighborhood issues.

Unfortunately, Meta-owned WhatsApp has not confirmed when this feature will be rolling out to the general public.

Hide online status

WhatsApp is currently testing a feature that will allow you to hide your online status.

That This groundbreaking feature – dubbed “stealth mode” by fans – lets you use the app in secret.

At the moment it is impossible to hide the fact that you are online.

All you can do is hide your Last Seen status.

But an update is currently being tested on the app beta

The new feature will be available under Settings > Privacy > Last Seen and Online.

But unfortunately it’s not guaranteed that you’ll be able to use it, even in the beta.

WhatsApp has been criticized in the past for not allowing users to hide their online status on the app.

So it’s good that this will change in the future.

Save deleted texts

WhatsApp is also working on a way that will allow you to save messages will disappear.

The clever trick would work with auto-deleting WhatsApp messages.

And it would allow users to exempt certain texts so they don’t disappear – an important WhatsApp warning.

These saved disappearing messages are stored in a special section within the app called Kept Messages.

The feature is currently being developed for the WhatsApp beta trial version of the app.

In this release, only group admins are able to keep or maintain messages within groups.
