Three miles long queue along the A27 for road works

A three-mile queue has built up along the A27 as roadworks cause congestion and delays for motorists.

Restrictions are in place due to road works on the Polegate Bypass between the A22 Polegate Road (Cop Hall roundabout) and the A2270 (Eastbourne turn-off).

A variety of cones, lane closures and temporary traffic lights are in place, causing traffic to stretch as far as Drusillas Park near Alfriston.

Motorists are also facing delays on other parts of the A27 this morning, including around Grove Lodge roundabout in Worthing, Lancing roundabout and on the Chichester Road around and past Arundel.
