Request TV shows and movies

If you’re a huge fan of a particular TV series or movie but Netflix doesn’t have it, there’s no need to suffer in silence.

You can send a request directly to Netflix and ask them to get your favorite content.

Just go to the “Request a TV show or movie” on the Netflix help page, where you can make up to three content suggestions at once.

If you’re dying to watch your favorite movie on the TV platform, you can even start a live chat with Netflix or call them directly.

Check if you are overpaying

There are three different Netflix plans to choose from: Basic, Standard, and Premium.

Each has its own prices and perks, and fully understanding these is key to saving big bucks.

For the basic pay £6.99/$9.99 per month.

This will give you fairly low definition 480p video quality and be viewable on a single device at all times.

That default Plan is more expensive at £10.99 / $15.49 per month.

You now get Full HD 1080p viewing and the option to watch Netflix on two devices at the same time.

Then there are the bonus Plan that costs a whopping £15.99/$19.99 per month.

This gives you 4K Ultra HD resolution, the best quality currently available on Netflix.

You also get HDR (or High Dynamic Range), which offers better contrast and a wider range of colors.

And you can also watch on four different devices at the same time.

To save money, you need to figure out if you have the right plan.

For example, if you only watch TV on a small iPhone screen via the app, you will probably be completely satisfied with the 480p resolution.

If you don’t have a 4K TV and never use more than two devices at the same time, don’t pay premium when standard will do.

And your internet might not be fast enough to stream 4K anyway. Netflix recommends a download speed of at least 25 Mbps.

To check this, go to Netflix and search for “test patterns”.

Play one and look for “3840 x 2160” in the upper-right corner: that means you’re getting full 4K.

It’s also possible that even with a high-resolution laptop screen, you won’t get the best quality.

Some browsers do not support streaming above 720p for Netflix.

For example, you cannot stream 4K Netflix on Google Chrome even if you have a 4K laptop.

As such, you might be better off with a Standard or even a Basic plan.

Hide what I’ve been watching on Netflix

If you’ve seen something you’re ashamed of or you just don’t want others to know, you can hide it.

All you have to do is walk Accountselect the account in question and click outlook under Display Activity.

You can then hide whatever you want from the list.
