All of these features are part of WhatsApp beta, which is a test version of the app.

They are mined by WABetaInfoa website dedicated to discovering new features in the beta of WhatsApp.

This gives us a big clue as to what new features are coming to the final versions of WhatsApp.

We have instructions on how to join WhatsApp beta at the end of this article.

Alternatively, you can just wait for these features to finally be available on the general release version of WhatsApp.

However, some of these features may change (or may even be removed) before moving to the live version of WhatsApp.

Forward voice notes

WhatsApp is changing the way voice notes are forwarded.

This means that orange icons will appear when a voice note or audio file has been forwarded.

It will help indicate the content has been forwarded.

And there is also a change that adds the ability to adjust playback speed and voice notes.

WhatsApp recently updated that app so voice note playback doesn’t end when you leave the conversation.

WhatsApp voice calls

An iPhone change adds a new look to voice calls on WhatsApp.

This includes voice waveforms for group calls.

That means you’ll be able to see who’s talking and who can be muted.

Keyboard shortcuts for emojis

This change is specific to the Universal Windows Platform (UWP) version of WhatsApp.

It is one of the options to use WhatsApp on a Windows PC.

In a recent beta update, users can quickly access specific emojis.

The feature works by typing a colon and then typing a specific word (like “woman”) to pull up an emoji.

It is already available as a feature on WhatsApp web (in your browser) and the official WhatsApp desktop app.

How to download beta version of WhatsApp

To download WhatsApp beta for your smartphone, you need to go to Google Play on your Android and search for WhatsApp.

Scroll down the page until you see “Become a Beta Tester”.

Click the “I Join” button and then click “Join” to confirm.

Now all you have to do is wait for the app’s beta update.

Joining WhatsApp beta on iPhone is more difficult and storage is limited.
