TikTok ‘DOWN’ – thousands of users say the video app is down

TIKTOK seems to have stopped working for thousands of users globally.

According to online issue trackers, the issue with the popular video app started around 11:30am UK time (6:30am EST).

More than 7,000 people have recorded problems with TikTok on DownDetectorMonitor the status of apps and websites.

The app appears to be experiencing downtime in the US and UK, as well as parts of Europe.

On DownDetector, 50% of complainants say they are having problems loading apps.

Over 23% reported problems connecting to the server, while 13% said they were unable to post videos.

The Sun tried to access the app from London and noticed that the video wasn’t loading on the For You feed.

The content on people’s profiles also doesn’t load properly.

TikTok has yet to acknowledge the outage. The Chinese company did not respond to a request for comment.

Users took to Twitter to vent their frustration at the outage.

One person tweeted: “Is it just me or is it @tiktok_us
I can’t see my videos or any other creator’s videos. “

Another wrote: “Tiktok is down and I have nothing else to do with my life so I went straight to twitter.”

And a third said: “Is anyone going down to the TIKTOK OR MY PHONE IS S**T.”

TikTok launched in 2018 and quickly became one of the most popular apps in the world, with an estimated one billion users.

It is owned by Beijing-based ByteDance. The Chinese version of the app, called Douyin, was created in 2016.

Users post and watch short videos in which they dance, lip-sync, act out sketches, and more.

The company rarely has a power outage. The last major incident occurred with TikTok on November 12, 2021.
