TIKTOK suffered a mysterious outage on Thursday, causing the app to crash.
Confused users of the popular video-sharing app flocked to Twitter to complain about the issue.
According to that down detector website saw a spate of reports that TikTok was down just after 10am BST / 5am ET.
The app crashed as soon as fans tried to open it.
Others reported that only a loading screen was shown.
The strange bug seems to be fixed now, but TikTok is yet to reveal the cause of it.
“Is TikTok down now because I can’t seem to open it properly,” said one user at the time.
“TikTok is all down right now!” another wrote.
“Not sure why, but hopefully it’ll be back soon!”
Reports from people around the world, including the UK and US, flooded the topic, leading to it being the second highest trending topic on Twitter at one point.
A quick test by The Sun suggested that the issue might be related to the latest iOS 16 update, although TikTok or Apple have confirmed it.
We tried it on one too Android Smartphone and it was loaded without problems.
The platform continued to function as usual on desktop as well.
