Tilly Ramsay has revealed that leaving the kitchen, her notoriously short-tempered father, Gordon Ramsay, is a “big softie” and loves to go around.
The 20-year-old host and social media star will face off against the celebrity chef in the new three-part National Geographic series, Gordon Ramsay: Uncharted Showdown.
Speaking about people’s opinions of his father, Tilly said: “A lot of people think that dad is a scary, terrible person because they’ve seen him like it on television.
“But really, as soon as you meet him or you’re in the same room with him, you realize he’s actually a very soft person – he’s like a teddy bear.
“All he wants to do is have fun and be comfortable around. Yes, when he’s in the kitchen area, he can be assertive and tell you what he needs to do, but I guess that’s like everyone in the workspace – he’s not. What are. “
The series will see Gordon, 55, go up against those closest to him in a variety of cooking challenges in special locations, with Tilly challenging him in Costa Rica for the upper hand. love of the locals in the final episode.
Tilly, who presented her own cooking show, Matilda And The Ramsay Bunch, on CBBC, confirmed that she and her father have a truly competitive relationship, saying: “It was very genuine. We can compete on the smallest things.
“I think it’s because we’re so similar and we both like to win so much it’s natural to play against each other and it’s really fun.
“Whenever we have a little rivalry with each other, it always becomes interesting. So it was always a laugh with him.”
Reflecting on the violent outbursts her father was famous for, Tilly revealed she tends to take a different approach.
“I’m pretty good at staying out of a situation if there’s any kind of heat,” she says.

“The funny thing is that it’s just the dad in the kitchen setting in the work environment – he never will be at home.
“I like to be careful with my colorful language, not that I really have any, especially at home because I have a younger brother.
“So no, I think since that doesn’t happen at home from dad, no one else is like that.”
In other episodes of the series, Michelin-starred chef Gordon confronts British chefs Paul Ainsworth and Matt Waldron, who started out in Ramsay’s kitchen before opening their own restaurant.
Gordon will face Ainsworth on England’s rugged Jurassic Coast and battle Waldron in Wales.
Tilly also revealed that she tried to encourage her father to sign up for the serious dance after she had “the best time of my life” on the show last year.
She said: “I kept explaining to him that he needed to get on that dance floor.
“Joining Seriously is the best time of my life and I think anyone who does it will figure things out for themselves.
“It was horrifying.
“It’s scary, and you’re so vulnerable, but it’s just one of the coolest things I’ve ever done.
“If I could convince him to do it, I would absolutely love but maybe when he has a little more time.”
Gordon Ramsay: Uncharted Showdown airs on National Geographic from November 9 at 8pm, including the Gordon Ramsay vs Tilly Ramsay finale special on November 23.
