Natalia George, founder of Flori’s Friends Rescue in Kent, describes three-year-old Sunny as “absolute sunshine” and says she has the ability to make everyone smile on a dark and rainy day

Sunny lives up to her self-chosen name

A small dog named for her “bright and beautiful personality” is looking for a loving family who will accept her missing hind legs and tail.

Disabled puppy Sunny previously had a broken back Save Flori’s friends took her in and changed her life.

Now the cute little girl has a hind leg and tail amputated and hops like a little kangaroo when she’s not in her wheels.

Natalia George, founder of the animal welfare organization in Kent, said: “We called her Sunny when she came to us on a dark, rainy day and she was just an absolute ray of sunshine.

“Anyone who gets Sunny will be the happiest person on earth as she is an absolute joy to have around – which is incredible after everything she’s been through in her short life.”

Natalia describes Sunny as “the perfect mix of cuddly and playful” and says she gets along with dogs, cats, adults and children.

“She really is the best dog we’ve ever had,” added Natalia.

Three year old Sunny came to Flori’s Friends Rescue all the way from Scotland and was cared for back to full health and happiness by the incredible team in Kent.

“Now it’s time for her to find a family forever and make room for us to save another one,” Natalia said.

“She will be sorely missed when she leaves, but we can’t keep her all.”

Sunny is an active girl who loves long walks in the country and playing on the beach – and smiles “ear to ear” when she’s outside.

“Sunny is fantastic off a leash and has very good manners with everyone she meets,” Natalia said.

“Sunny snuggles up on your lap in front of the TV one night and gives you the best cuddles.”

Due to her incontinence, Sunny needs diapers and an adoptive partner who can empty her bladder four times a day.

“All of our adopters receive extensive training on how to do this. It’s pretty easy once you know how to do it, so we’ll consider owners of first-time disabled dogs,” Natalia said.

Sunny comes with a £700 bespoke wheelchair, rompers and nappies so potential owners don’t have to worry about buying any gear.

She needs to go into a home to play with at least one other small dog as she is a ‘sociable butterfly’.

“I’d really like to see Sunny find her dream home to continue thriving,” Natalia said.
