Tipping Point viewers slammed the show for an “outrageous” mistake after host Ben Shephard read out the wrong answer to a trivia question.
Contestants Ben, Diane, Shannon and Ben joined the panel on Tuesday afternoon’s episode of the ITV quiz show as they competed to win £10,000.
But eagle-eared fans were outraged when contestant Ben gave the wrong answer in his Q&A.
The hopeful Tipping Point was asked: “In England, what month does the longest day of the year appear?”
Ben replied “July”, but was corrected by host Ben, who told him that the answer was indeed June.
But those who watched the warning at home took to Twitter to respond amid claims it was false in an “outrageous” bug.
One viewer wrote: “Bad question about Tipping Point. The longest day isn’t in June, it’s the longest daylight hours.
“The longest day is when the clock turns back 25 hours.”
Another said: “You are so right! Too bad they should have known better! ”
A third agreed, adding: “It’s outrageous, it’s a quiz they should check their answers!”
While the “longest day” of the year, the Summer Solstice, saw Britons get a handle on almost 17 hours of sunlight in June, fans note that this only counts daylight hours and not All day longest, operate longer with daylight saving time.
Elsewhere on the show, Tipping Point viewers threatened a “shutdown” in response to one contestant’s “frustrating” habits.
Diane, one of those hoping to win big and land the £10,000 jackpot, has opened her counter at unusual times, leaving numerous comments about her release timing on the show.
On Twitter, one fan wrote: “If Diane gets to the final round with that crazy timing, I’ll shut down.”
Another said: “Lord Diane’s timing worries me,” as a third wrote: “Her timing will give me an aneurysm.”
One fan said in unison: “Diane made me scream into the phone!” as another viewer posted: “Her timing was horrible.”
Another ITV fan tweeted: “Diane is letting me down big!!”
Diane reached the second final round alongside fellow contestant Ben, as she amassed £1,300 while Ben earned £2,450, meaning she was eliminated in the penultimate round.
Tipping Point airs at 4pm on weekdays on ITV.
