A year after his starring role in Titane, winner of the Palme d’Or at the Cannes Film Festival, French actor Vincent Lindon will chair the jury that will decide this year’s festival’s top prize.
The Cannes Film Festival announced on Tuesday that Lindon will be President of the Jury at next month’s festival in the south of France.
Lindon won Best Actor at the 2015 Cannes Film Festival for his performance in The Measure Of A Man and received acclaim at the 2021 edition for his performance in Julia Ducournau’s body horror thriller, The Palm-winning Titans.
The other members of the jury are: Rebecca Hall, the British actress and filmmaker; India star Deepika Padukone; Swedish actor Noomi Rapace; Italian actor and director Jasmine Trinca; Oscar-winning Iranian filmmaker Asghar Farhadi; French director Ladj Ly; American filmmaker Jeff Nichols; and Norwegian director Joachim Trier, whose film The Worst Man Alive was also an award winner at Cannes last year.
The 75th Cannes Film Festival begins on May 17th and culminates with the Palme d’Or on May 28th.
