Tom Alsop enjoyed a great day for Sussex as they stacked the runs.
Alsop equaled his career-best 150 as the county heaped 407-4 against Leicestershire at Hove.
But there was bad news for Sussex too as Tom Haines will miss the rest of this game and the next five to six weeks after breaking a bone in his left hand.
Sussex are looking to build on their recent win against Derbyshire.
Alsop said: “I still can’t seem to get past 150, which is still my top mark.
“It was a great day for the club all round and it was just great to be a part of it.
“We are really well positioned. That victory over Derbyshire meant so much to so many people. Suddenly everyone is full of confidence and things start to gel.”
Alsop has converted an initial loan deal from Hampshire into a permanent deal from next season.
He said: “Sussex has really made me feel at home so credit for that has to go to the coaching staff and the other players. I felt like I belonged here from day one.”
