While Tom Brady may have officially retired from the NFL, the seven-time Super Bowl champion kept his love of football alive in a new football-themed road trip movie called 80 for Brady which he will produce and act on.
As reported by THR, Paramount Pictures’ 80s for Brady and Endeavor Content will star Lily Tomlin, Jane Fonda, Rita Moreno and Sally Field and will be directed by Kyle Marvin, who also co-wrote the screenplay with Michael Covino.
The film is inspired by the true story of four patriotic New England friends who go on a life-changing trip to see Tom Brady compete at Super Bowl LI 2017. Brady was very involved in the launch of this project and is producing the film through his company 199 Productions with Donna Giglotti and Endeavor Content.
Production in the 80s for Brady will begin in spring 2022, and the latest version of the script is based on drafts from Emily Halpern and Sarah Haskins of Booksmart.
Tom Brady was in the NFL for 22 seasons and spent his first 20 seasons as a QB for the New England Patriots before ending his career with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Along the way, he’s won seven Super Bowl rings, five Super Bowl MVPs, four NFL MVPs, and more. He also holds many NFL records, including the most Super Bowl wins and most career QB wins, effort, finish, touchdown, yards, etc.
Brady was also the cover star of Madden NFL 18 and Madden NFL 22 alongside Kansas City Chief QB Patrick Mahomes. In our review of Madden NFL 22, we say it “makes a small and unimpressive first step in the Xbox Series X and PS5 generation, with better new ideas even plagued by poor execution.”
