Tom Grennan thanks fans for the ‘incredible’ support after the New York attack

Tom Grennan has thanked his fans for their “incredible” support after he was attacked outside a Manhattan bar on Wednesday.
The 26-year-old singer is recovering from a ruptured eardrum in the robbery that followed his concert in New York that night.
His manager John Dawkins released a statement on Thursday detailing the “unprovoked attack” and announcing that his upcoming Washington DC show would be postponed to allow him to recover.
In a video posted to Twitter on Friday, the Little Bit of Love star told fans he was on medication but was in a good mood.
He said: “Just thought I’d come down here and let you know I’m fine and the support I’ve seen is incredible and very overwhelming and I can’t believe it, so thank you very much.
“Those 24 hours were crazy. It was a bit of a madness to be honest. But I thought I’d come here and let you know what actually went on. It was just the wrong place, the wrong time. And I got hit, knocked out, and I woke up and I was like, ‘Woah, what’s going on?’.
“I have a ruptured eardrum. Luckily my jaw is fine. I have a mild concussion, but I’m on medication at the moment, so it kind of eases the pain. I filed the police report and the NYPD was great, they were brilliant. Wrong place, wrong time. But only a crazy 24 hours.”
Grennan said that his US fans were his “main priority” and that he didn’t want to let anyone down, so he decided to continue his tour.
The Bedford-born singer has been nominated for two awards at the Brits 2022 – British Song of the Year for Little Bit of Love and Best Rock/Alternative Act.
