Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson lead tributes to ‘graceful’ Lisa Marie Presley

In an Instagram post on behalf of the couple, Wilson recalled the time spent with Presley and her family during a movie promotion last year.

“Our hearts are broken with the sudden and shocking passing of Lisa Marie Presley tonight,” she wrote in the lengthy post.

“Tom and I spent some family time during Elvis’s movie tour. Lisa Marie is very honest and outspoken, vulnerable, always in a state of expectation about the movie.

“She spoke so eloquently about her father, how much the film meant to her, that it was a celebration of her father. She has two beautiful daughters Finley and Harper with her who make us all laugh.

“Our hearts and prayers go out to Riley, Harper, Finley, Danny and Priscilla,” she said.

“A mother should never lose a child. Lisa Marie lost her precious son Benjamin, Priscilla lost her only daughter. It too much. Sending love to the family, praying for peace and strength. Love, Rita and Tom.”

Travolta said his “heart goes out” to the Presley family after hearing the news, writing: “Little Lisa, I’m so sorry.

“I will miss you but I know I will see you again. My love and heart goes out to Riley, Priscilla, Harper and Finley.”
