Legendary actor Tom Hanks plays Geppetto, the woodcutter, creator of Pinocchio, in Disney’s new live-action film
Disney has released the first photo from its new live-action film Pinocchio.
And in the scene, Tom Hanks is seen transforming into the Italian carpenter Geppetto, who creates Pinocchio out of wood and then wishes for a star so the statue becomes a real boy.
The reimagined story, directed by Robert Zemeckis, will follow up on the original beloved tale of a wooden puppet who embarks on an adventure to become a human by trying to prove he’s brave. , honest and unselfish.
The first look at the highly anticipated film shows Tom in shabby chic, wearing shabby overalls and a shirt.
He is seen with his white curly hair and mustache when he bends down to admire Pinocchio.
Pinocchio, voiced by Benjamin Evan Ainsworth in the film, looks almost identical to the film’s original character design with a yellow hat with red fur, black hair, and a cute face with a long nose.
Behind the two figures, the workshop where Gepetto works, equipped with carpentry tools, is illuminated by candlelight.
The second image shows Hanks looking at every inch of the cheering chapter as he grins and narrows his eyes, and the third image depicts Geppetto working with Pinocchio.
Other famous faces in the film – whose character has yet to be seen – include Joseph Gordon-Levitt as Jiminy Cricket, Cynthia Erivo as the Blue Fairy; Keegan-Michael Key as John ‘Honest’ and Luke Evans as the Coach.
Recent years have seen the movie giant Disney embrace live-action versions of many of its top titles, including Aladdin, The Lion King, Mulan and Dumbo.
Tom is a busy man and so his fans will get to see him in another blockbuster before Pinocchio is released.
The American name is starring in award-winning director Baz Luhrmann’s biopic about famous gunman Elvis Presely.
Elvis, is set to chronicle the life and career of the King of Rock and Roll, with the legendary singer played by Austin Butler.
Oscar winner Tom takes on the role of iconic star’s colorful manager, Colonel Tom Parker, while Olivia DeJonge plays Elvis Priscilla Presley’s much-loved wife in the project slated to launch in June 2022.
