Tom Parker: Funeral for The Wanted star ends

Tom Parker’s devastated fans have raised £59,000 via a GoFundMe page set up by his wife Kelsey following his tragic death last month.

The Wanted star sadly passed away at the age of 33 last month surrounded by his loved ones.

He was battling stage 4 glioblastoma — a type of brain tumor.

His heartbroken wife set up the donation page just days after his sudden death.

More than 3,700 people took to the site to raise money that “will be used for amazing causes on Tom’s behalf”.

Kelsey and her family attended Tom’s funeral in south-east London on Wednesday, where the mother-of-two broke down in tears as she called the tragic singer her “soulmate”.

She wrote on Instagram: “I’m Kelsey Parker, very proud wife of Tom Parker, probably best known for being one fifth of British boy band The Wanted but to those who knew him he was my husband, a father, son, brother and friend.”

Kelsey paid a subtle tribute to her beloved husband Tom when she wore a jeweled bobby pin with his name to his funeral in Petts Wood.

In memory of Tom, Kelsey wore his silver wedding band as well as a personalized gold clip in her hair with his name written in silver gems.

After the service, Kelsey broke down in tears as she placed a white rose on Tom’s coffin and said goodbye.

During his funeral, Kelsey’s tribute to Tom was played to the congregation in a recorded message.

She said “if love could have saved you, you would have lived forever” as she thanked him for being her “soulmate.”

Kelsey said: “I met him at a nightclub when I was 19. I saw him and said ‘Oh my god I love him’.

“It was love at first sight. From that moment on, I said to everyone, “I’m going to marry him.”

“He had just joined a band called The Wanted. He had other ideas. He said ‘I’m going to be famous, I won’t have time for a girlfriend’.

“Life with you was never boring. Our relationship was fiery and fast-paced because we loved each other so much.”

Kelsey went on to say that marrying Tom was “the best day of my life” before moving on to the moment Tom was diagnosed with inoperable grade 4 glioblastoma in October 2020.
