This year’s Tony Awards is the 75th anniversary of the annual event and takes place in New York City on Sunday

Actress Jennifer Hudson has earned her coveted EGOT status after winning the Tony Award in New York on Sunday.

The star served as a producer on A Strange Loop, which won Best Musical at the 75th edition of the annual ceremony.

It means she’s been recognized by all four of the show’s major awards; an Emmy, a Grammy, an Oscar and a Tony.

The noble title was previously awarded to only 16 people, including the likes of Whoopi Goldberg, Andrew Lloyd Webber and John Legend.

Elsewhere at the Tony Awards, Toby Marlow made history as the first non-binary Tony Award winner.

The author of the historical comedy musical, Six, won a score of best original (music and/or lyrics) written for theatre, along with co-creator Lucy Moss.

The piece presents a modern story recounting the lives of Henry VIII’s six wives and is presented in the setting of a pop concert.

It received a total of eight Tony nominations, including best new musical, best original score, best musical direction, musical best costume design, good lighting design. the best of the musical, the best sound design of the musical, the best choreography and the best orchestra.

There was also disappointment during the show’s memo segment with John Stamos admitting he wasn’t impressed to learn that late comedian Bob Saget had been eliminated.

The American actor said the Broadway community “loves” Bob and has urged the organization to include him in the show’s tribute.
