Tory leadership hopefuls of attending hustings at Eastbourne
RISHI Sunak and Liz Truss are set to answer questions from Sussex Tory members as the Conservative leadership race comes to the south coast.
The two candidates, who are vying to succeed Boris Johnson as Prime Minister, will attend a husting in Eastbourne later in the evening, where Conservative Party members from the region will have the opportunity to brief each candidate on his plans for the future direction of the country to inform.
Both candidates have visited Sussex in recent weeks, with the former Chancellor and Foreign Secretary paying a visit to meet members at Fontwell Park racecourse, near Littlehampton.
Protests by campaign group Stand Up to Racism are planned ahead of the frenzy at Eastbourne train station, criticizing the “racist blaming of refugees and migrants” by both candidates after Sunak and Truss signaled they would continue the government’s immigration policy in Rwanda.
