Simon Hart baked by Burley on his plan to bring asylum seekers to Rwanda

Tory MP Simon Hart was criticized on social media on Thursday for three breakfast TV interviews he gave regarding the government’s decision to send migrants to Rwanda, as well as the scandal’ Partygate’.

Mr Hart, who has been Foreign Secretary for Wales since 2019, has appeared on Good Morning Britain and Sky News and gave interviews on BBC Radio 4’s Today programme.

Twitter was flooded with comments about his three appearances, with many users using the word “car accident” to describe his interviews.

When asked by Sky News presenter Kay Burley what he thought of the Prime Minister’s oversight of 50 broken laws, Mr Hart replied: “I don’t know where you get 50 from… you know a lot about that. this than me. “

The journalist explained that the number of violations was included in a statement by the Metropolitan Police, which Mr Hart said was “speculative”.

“Like I say, you know more about this than I do – I’m not going to speculate. Seriously, we can’t speculate,” he stammered before adding: “You lured me in last week. and I may have gone too far in speculating.”

When the conversation turned to the topic of asylum seekers being sent to Rwanda, Ms. Burley asked: “Are we only sending men?”

Mr. Hart replied: “Yes, so I think I need to be careful when writing the details, there’s some sensitivity around that. But yeah, the majority of the issues we’re talking about will be for men. economic migration, yes.”

Mrs. Burley then asked: “And will they be adult males?” and when he confirmed they would, she probed: “How do we determine if someone is undocumented whether they’re an adult?”

A third person tweeted: “Geez saw Simon Hart being interviewed by Kay Burley. What a car crash. Didn’t even know 50 fines were given. What planet does he live on. Try again to protect the unbearable.”

Another joked: “I just witnessed a terrible car crash. Wales secretary Simon Hart was knocked out by Kay Burley on Sky News.”

There were similar tweets about Mr Hart’s Good Morning Britain interview with hosts Adil Ray and Charlotte Hawkins.

One wrote: “Simon Hart – Car accident interview! #GMB,” and another said sarcastically: “Simon Hart represented Government very well this morning #r4today #BBCBreakfast #kayburley #gmb.”
