ANTONIO CONTE has described the Premier League’s policy on game postponement as ‘strange’.
The Tottenham boss believes matches should only be postponed due to cases of Covid – not injury.
Spurs were furious with the Prem chiefs being punished Arsenal ask to postpone Sunday’s North London derby due to lack of available players.
Conte, speaking ahead of the club’s rearranged trip to Leicester on Wednesday night, said: “It’s the first time in my life that a league game has been postponed due to injury.
“This is very strange and I am very surprised by this.
“When there is a situation where we have to play, we have to play and we must not postpone the game because of injury or international duty.
“I think we have a big problem to deal with, which is Covid. But only about this situation can you decide to postpone.
“Honestly, for other situations, it’s the first time in my life – and I think I’ve got a bit of football experience – to see this kind of decision and it’s very strange because This way anything is possible.”

Tottenham originally planned to go to Leicester last month but the clash was adjourned due to Covid cases in the Fox camp.
Spurs were furious that they had previously asked for the match to be canceled so they could play their Europa Conference League final group stage game against Rennes – have been ruled out due to the coronavirus outbreak in the Tottenham squad.
But the Premier League refused and Uefa awarded Rennes a 3-0 win which means Spurs knocked out of Europe’s third tournament.
Conte added: “It’s a huge loss for Tottenham to leave the Premier League. You have to protect your team and they punished us in a bad way.
“We are working and we have a passion for football and love to do this but they have to show respect for the club and our work.”
