A good performance ended up yielding nothing for Tottenham Hotspur at Manchester United on Saturday.

As sports icon Tom Brady watched in the stands, Spurs were unable to deal with one on the pitch as Cristiano Ronaldo’s hat-trick sent them down 3-2.

Tottenham were the better team for long periods of the game and looked to be in control as they equalized twice thanks to Harry Kane and an own goal from Harry Maguire.

But in the end Spurs’ hopes of breaking into the top four were badly hit, as the Reds picked up a substantial three points at their expense.

Conte targets United

Tottenham manager Antonio Conte believes Spurs would be better off at Man United without Ronaldo.

The Portuguese was ruthless in his finishing, robbing him of the chances presented to him. In contrast, Spurs proved to be poor when entering favorable areas, or opening loopholes or choosing the wrong pass.

“You’re talking about a player who has always been decisive and has made a name for himself in his career,” Conte said of Ronaldo after the game.

Back in 2017, Kane said his sport “Idol” is NFL great Tom Brady, so the England captain will be inspired by his appearance at Old Trafford.

The Spurs forward was a threat throughout the game against United, although his penalty was quickly canceled out by Ronaldo’s second goal.
