Tottenham Hotspur manager Antonio Conte has once again worked his magic as he set about appointing a new leader in the club’s dressing room.
Conte’s appointment at the club in November has helped a number of Spurs players improve their form, including Cristian Romero, Matt Doherty and others Harry Kane The north London side are now close to qualifying for next season Champions League. And their top-four charge in the Premier League has been helped tremendously by Eric Dier’s newfound leadership skills.
It comes as Erik ten Hag’s failed Spurs interview and his “strange demands” have been revisited, with the Dutchman reportedly on the verge of becoming Manchester United’s next manager. And Tottenham’s remaining games in the Premier League have been compared to rivals arsenal.

United bosses are said to have voiced the same reservations about Ten Hag as Tottenham bosses did a year ago following his interview for the Old Trafford role. It has been claimed that his interview raised questions about the Ajax boss’s lack of charisma, which helped convince Spurs to go for Nuno Espirito Santo’s appointment over the Dutchman last year.
Ten Hag also made “strange demands” during his Spurs interview – as he reportedly only wanted to bring an employee from Ajax.
Conte creates new leader
Eric Dier has become one of the leaders in the Tottenham Hotspur dressing room under the guidance of Antonio Conte, reports say.
The Spurs defender has been described as a ‘leader’ by the Sky Sports pundit Jamie Carragher after an impressive form run for Conte’s side. Dier has started all of the Spurs’ last eight First League Matches in which they won six games to boost their hopes of qualifying for the Champions League.
And the England international is just another example of a player who has found a new life since Conte took over the club.
