Conte himself was linked with the Old Trafford job before arriving in north London last November, a role Ten Hag was also interviewed for in the summer of 2021. And the Italian has now told the Ajax boss what to expect when he arrives in England at the end of the season.
It comes as Conte also dropped the names of several academy graduates in his squad when he unknowingly revealed a youngster he’s clearly excited about. Elsewhere, Grant Xhaka asked a lot of him arsenal teammates in the race for Champions League Qualifying as they attempt to leapfrog Spurs into the top 4.

Xhaka puts down the Spurs challenge
Arsenal midfielder Granit Xhaka has delivered a stirring message to his Arsenal team-mates as they seek to overtake Tottenham in the top four of the Premier League and secure Champions League football next season.
Spurs are currently bottom of the Champions League on goal difference, with both clubs level on 57 points following Arsenal’s 4-2 win Chelsea On Wednesday. That means both clubs are under pressure when trying to finish in the top four – and Xhaka knows the challenge his side face.
After the Chelsea game, the Gunners midfielder said his team would treat any remaining games as “six cup finals” to regain the advantage.
Conte sends Man Utd warning
Eric ten Hag “Must fight to win trophies” at Manchester United, according to Spurs boss Antonio Conte.
Ten Hag will become the next manager at Old Trafford, United announced on Thursday and will officially join the club at the end of the season. Conte was closely associated with the job at United before arriving at Spurs and has helped oversee a dramatic fortunes surge for his club that has put him on the brink of Champions League qualification.
The Italy manager has now warned Ten Hag what to expect as he made something of a hindsight at United as he insisted the club “improved the squad and did worse than last season”.
Academy youngster impresses Conte
Antonio Conte has unknowingly revealed the name of a young academy player he was impressed by.
The Spurs boss spoke about Tottenham midfielder Oliver Skipp’s new deal with the club, with the academy graduate signing a contract until 2024 to remain in north London. Conte spoke about the importance of developing players at the academy before listing Japhet Tanganga, Dane Scarlett and Harvey White, football.london reports.
While White has yet to make his First League After making his debut for the club, he has impressed his manager, who has included him in all but three of his matchday squads since the start of the year. And Conte’s comments could show how highly he rates the midfielder.
