Conte happy to put pressure on Arsenal in top-four race

Tottenham Hotspur could not be in a better position going into their last game of the season on Sunday, where they need just a point against already relegated Norwich City to secure a top-four finish and UEFA Champions League football in to secure arch-rivals Arsenal next season.

But in what could be a huge blow for them this summer, Bayern Munich have been urged to sign Harry Kane to replace Robert Lewandowski at the end of the season, despite the Lilywhites having already made an offer for a backup striker for the England international.

Here are Mirror football latest stories about Tottenham.

Bayern “urged” to sign Kane

Tottenham face a new challenge in keeping star striker Harry Kane at the club as Bayern Munich look for a replacement for Robert Lewandowksi and Julian Nagelsmann’s team have been urged to seek a deal for the ‘complete’ Spurs forward this summer.

Lewandowski’s 344 goals in 375 games can be equated with Kane’s impressive record of 247 goals in 385 games for the north London club, and former Bayern Munich defender Jerome Boateng has told Sky Sports Germany that The Reds are targeting Kane should if Lewandowski leaves this summer.

As the Express reports, he said: “Personally, I would try to get Harry Kane [for] Bavaria immediately. This is my opinion. For me it’s a complete striker who scores goals every day at Tottenham in a very good but not world-class team. When he plays in a team like Bayern, I think he’s a great replacement at a very good footballing age. It’s up to Bayern Munich.”

Spurs make bid for Ligue 1 star

Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly made an offer to sign in-form Rennes striker Martin Terrier in this summer’s transfer window, with Antonio Conte’s side keen to land the 25-year-old striker at the end of the season.

With 21 goals this season in Ligue 1, he is the league’s third-top scorer this season, behind only Paris Saint-Germain’s Kylian Mbappe (25) and Monaco forward Wissam Ben Yedder (24). Earlier this month, former Arsenal and Barcelona star Thierry Henry challenged Terrier to win a first call-up to the France national team.

As reported by Foot Mercato, Tottenham are said to “really like” Terriers and that an offer has already been made by the north London club to bolster a front line that boasts the likes of Harry Kane and Heung-Min Son. It remains to be seen how Rennes will react to the interest.

Laura Woods called ‘biased’ by Spurs fan

A Tottenham fan took aim at Laura Woods on talkSPORT after claiming she was biased towards Arsenal in an intense race for Champions League places, with the Gunners all but missing a top-four finish this season .

A callSPORT caller, Nick, claimed that Arsenal’s failure to secure a place in the top four was the “biggest meltdown ever” and that she was biased towards the north London side – a claim made by the Gunners’ supporters Woods certainly didn’t agree with that.

Whilst Woods was certainly not enthusiastic about Nick’s claim, she was then even more horrified when he suggested Arsenal had a ‘small club’ mentality and didn’t think they would be able to compete for Champions League places at the start to fight the campaign
