Keane’s Top Four Predictions
The race for fourth and final place in the UEFA Champions League seems to be going downhill with every club battling for points.
Spurs beat Man City on Saturday night keeping them on the hunt but the club will be dismayed to see United pick up a much-needed win the next day against Leeds United.
Speaking as a pundit with Sky Sports, Keane believes his former club will keep Tottenham out of the race for Europe’s top cup.
“They need to keep their head up, focus and show quality, like they did today, and they’ll be fine,” he said.
Spurs impact race title
Given Tottenham’s form in Saturday night’s game against City, not many think they will get anything out of the game.
But Harry Kane’s gasping final header shocked the football world and revived the race to the Premier League title that was seen as a format for the defending champions.
Although Man City held their fate in their hands, Tottenham at least made everyone not want Pep Guardiola’s team to win the championship at the moment.
Spurs also play Liverpool in May, so could play an even bigger role in deciding where the trophy will end up at the end of the season.
Gundogan discusses Spurs defeat
After seeing his equalizer ultimately go nowhere, City midfielder Ilkay Gundogan has spoken of Liverpool’s chances to come out on top of the league.
Man City have a six-point advantage over the Reds but that lead could be reduced to three if Liverpool win the match in hand.
Speaking after a tense encounter with Tottenham on Saturday night, Gundogan was candid about what the defeat meant for the pursuit team.
He said: “We know they will try everything to make our lives as difficult as possible. The good thing is that they still need to come here at the Etihad, but there are still many games to go.”
