Get ready for sequels to some of Disney’s biggest films

Bob Iger, the current CEO of The Walt Disney Company, had an investor call packed with news about the future of the Mouse House. While much of this was negative, like the fact that there will be massive layoffs, Iger tried to smooth down the overall reaction with an announcement that some massive sequels are on the way, including Toy Story 5, Frozen 3, and Zootopia 2.
The three films have had no announcement as to what fans can expect in terms of story, cast and release dates, so it’s all speculation at this point. However, Disney has three dates planned for their own animated films, so it’s possible fans will see Frozen 3 and Zootopia 2 sometime between 2024 and 2026.
A Frozen sequel makes perfect sense as both Frozen movies are clear juggernauts, especially when it comes to Disney+ viewership, but the really interesting news is that Zootopia is actually getting a full-blown sequel. The animal metropolis has been praised for its captivating world, leading to a streaming show based on the film; The fact that fans of the animation powerhouse are getting a full blown sequel is sure to delight those who love the world of Zootopia.
On the other hand, Pixar has scheduled dates in 2025 and 2026, which remain without a film attached, so it’s entirely possible that Toy Story fans can expect the fifth installment in one of those two years. Toy Story 5 is certainly a film to look forward to when it comes to news, as the way Toy Story 4 ended will undoubtedly make the fifth film feel even more different than its predecessor.
